# Plans and limits

> How many scans and email checks each plan includes, and when limits reset.

Every account has a plan. The plan sets a **daily allowance** of scans and email checks. Allowances reset at **00:00 UTC** each day.

| Plan | Scans per day | Email checks per day |

| Free | 1 | 1, plus 5 welcome checks |
| Enthusiast | 1, plus scan credits | 100 |
| Startup | 10 | 500 |
| Enterprise | 50 | 1,000 |

* **Welcome checks:** every new account gets 5 one-time email checks. They are used only after the day's allowance, and don't expire.
* **Scan credits:** extra scans beyond the daily allowance (Enthusiast plan, or granted by support). They are used only after the day's allowance, and don't expire.
* **What doesn't count:** scans that fail or are cancelled, and email checks that fail on our side (`502`, or the verdict `fatal_exception`). A failed scan paid with a credit gives the credit back.

## When you reach a limit

The API answers `429 Too Many Requests` with a `Retry-After` header (seconds until the reset) and this body:

`limit` is `scan` or `email check`. Wait until `resets_at`, or retry after `Retry-After` seconds.
